Tiger Wrestlers place 4th at Viking Invite

Rush City-Braham totaled 100 points to place 4th at the Jan. 17 North Branch Invite. Centennial, Grand Rapids and the host Vikings placed in the upper three spots amid the eight teams competing.

Jacob Lynch pinned his three opponents, including GR’s Rusch in the finals, to win the 195 lb. class at the tourney.

Tyler Sitz at 126 finished in 3rd place, pinning Htoo of Washington Tech in his final match. Francis Loerzel at 138 also placed 3rd while recording a third-period fall over Fridley’s Diaz in his last match.

Placing 4th for RC-B were Brian Nelson at 145, Luke Rands at 170 and Chase Grant at 182. Collin Yaritz took 5th at 220.

• On Jan. 16, the Tigers swept the season series with Cloquet by winning 60-18. The Tigers have a make-up Great River match at Aitkin on Jan. 23.

On Saturday, the Tigers will test themselves at the Grand Rapids Invitational, followed by the Zimmerman Quad on Tuesday evening.
