Bluejacket girls hockey shuts out Lumberjacks

The Cambridge-Isanti-Mora-Pine City girls hockey team picked up a nice road win over section-partner Cloquet-Esko-Carlton in a 2-0 shutout on Jan. 18.

Kylie Guimont broke a 0-0 tie with a goal at the 11:45 mark of the first period off assists from Jordan Ramey and Ally Erickson. After a scoreless second period, Jennifer Phillips added the insurance goal in the third when she was set up by Guimont and Maria Carpenter. Abbey Haug got the win in the nets with 27 saves, and the Bluejackets took no penalties in the victory.

• On Jan. 17, visiting Rogers got past the CIMPC girls 5-3 in a Mississippi 8 game, sweeping the season series with the Bluejackets.

Buffalo 6, C-I Boys 0

Buffalo went 3-for-4 on the power play and scored four goals in the second period to defeat the Cambridge boys hockey squad 6-0 Jan. 16 in Isanti. Logan Hyland made 30 saves in the Bluejacket nets.

• Austin Schlenker and Collin Anderson netted Bluejacket goals in the third period in a 5-2 loss to host Achiever Academy Jan. 14.
