Braham School Board welcomes new members

Braham School Board swore in new members Allison Londgren and Mike Thompson at an organizational board meeting Monday, Jan. 6.

The two new members participated in their first meeting and were assigned to committees.

The board also appointed Steve Eklund as chair, Robert Hughes as vice chair, Zane Braund as clerk and Tony Cuda as treasurer.

In other action, the board:

• Set salaries for the year for the same as 2013. The salaries for last year were $800 for officers, $600 for directors, with $50 per regular school board meeting, $25 for other meetings up to four hours and $75 for other meetings of four to eight hours; $125 for any other meetings over eight hours in one day. There was no cap last year.

• Designated Frandsen Bank & Trust of Braham and Bremer Financial Services in Lake Elmo to be the official depository for 2014. The board authorized the superintendent and district office designees to have online banking access to the Braham School’s accounts at Frandsen Bank & Trust.

• Approved a resolution to allow the use of facsimile signatures on all district checks to eliminate the need to have board officers sign each check issued.

• Appointed Cambridge-based Joslin & Moore Law Offices and Minneapolis-based Ratwik, Roszak & Maloney as the 2014 legal council.
