C-I Gymnasts improve in win over Magic

The Cambridge-Isanti gymnasts posted their highest team total of the season in a 137.6-131.3 victory over Monticello in the Dec. 12 home-opener. The Bluejackets are now 1-1 in Mississippi 8 duals.

Morgan Urness won the All-Around with a season-high 35.025 total, highlighted by a 9.025 on the Vault and an 8.875 on the Bars. Tori Nelson was 2nd on the Vault by sticking her tsuk for a 9.0, and she led the Bluejackets on the Floor with an 8.75 and on the Beam with an 8.6.

Hannah Haight came through with a team-high 9.05 on the bars, and MollyAnn Harvey followed her on the bars with an 9.025.

• At Saturday’s St. Cloud Tech Team Pride Invite, the Bluejackets upped their team score to 138.8.95 to place 2nd to the host Tigers (143.5) in the seven-team gathering.

Nelson’s 9.1 on the Vault was the team’s highest event score, and Urness was just back at 9.0. Urness totaled 34.1 AA points after adding an 8.8 on the Floor. Haight posted a 9.0 on the Bars and finished with 33.6 All-Around points. Kasey Bruss scored an 8.9 and Nelson stuck an 8.85 on the Bluejacket Beam.

C-I will travel to St. Francis Dec. 19 for a conference dual.  The Saints scored 130.7 points for 7th at the Tech Team Pride.
