Barry C. Blomquist, 61, of Cambridge, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 14, 2013 at his home.
He was born Nov. 13, 1952 in Braham, Minn. to Dallas and Darlene (Graham) Blomquist. He grew up in Cambridge and attended school, graduated from Cambridge High School in 1970. Upon graduation, Barry earned an Associates Degree from Brown Institute and later became a manager at CD Warehouse. Barry enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served from April 5, 1971 to Nov. 21, 1973 and was honorably discharged. He earned a Rifle Marksmanship Badge along with earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was preceded in death by his brother Dallas Blomquist Jr. and nephew Chris (Kip) Blomquist. Barry is survived by his son Tristan Green of Cambridge; three grandchildren; parents Dallas and Darlene Blomquist of Piedmont, SD; nieces Shannon Blomquist of Stanchfield and Traci Bistodeau of Braham; six great nieces and nephews; one great great niece; one great great nephew; former sister-in-law Nancy (Jim) Graham of Cambridge; and dear friend Melinda Green.
A private military graveside service will take place at a later date. Arrangements by the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Cambridge.
