Free Presentation on Identifying Invasive Species

Thursday, Nov. 14: Patrick Kelly (Land Management Coordinator for Prairie Restoration) will be giving a presentation on how to identify Buckthorn and other invasive woody species. Why are they undesirable and how do we get rid of them? This free presentation at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge is at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by the Isanti County Master Gardeners. Cambridge Center for the Arts Annual Meeting

Thursday, Nov. 14: Cambridge Center For the Arts will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. at the CCFA Cambridge City Center Mall location, Suite 178. The meeting will include election of board members, and a yearly summary of activities, as well as some musical entertainment from Play Inc members. Come and view some of the spectacular Elof Wedin art works on display and hear an interesting presentation of the life and work of Elof Wedin. CCFA members are encouraged to attend. Interested new members will be registered at the meeting also.

Cambridge Public Library Fall Booksale

Nov. 14-16: Stop by the Cambridge Public Library on Nov. 14 from 4-8  p.m.; Nov. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the fall booksale. The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and all proceeds will go to the Friends organization. There will donated fiction, nonfiction items for both adults and children.

Bake Sale to benefit Li’l Farm

Friday, Nov. 15: A bake sale to benefit the Li’l Farm Children’s Home in Cambridge will be held at the Cambridge Minnco Credit Union. Stop in to get some delicious home-made goodies.

Fall Craft and Bake Sale

Saturday, Nov. 16: Joy Lutheran Church in Cambridge will host a Fall Craft & Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For additional information, contact Vicki at 763-689-5912.

Ruby’s Pantry Food Distribution

Saturday, Nov. 16: Ruby’s Pantry Food Distribution will be held at Elim Baptist Church, 114 Dahlin Ave. NE, Isanti, from 8-9:30 a.m. $15 donation.

Memory Screenings & Educational Materials

Tuesday, Nov. 19: Memory screenings and educational materials are available as part of National Memory Screening Day, an annual initiative of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. An event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at GracePointe Crossing – The Commons, 1545 RiverHills Pkwy NW, Cambridge. Free and confidential. Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution

Tuesday, Nov. 19: The Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution will be held at the Isanti County Fairgrounds. Registration and food distribution will be from 3:30 to 6 p.m. There will not be any preregistration. Do not arrive before 1 p.m. Food will be distributed to one person only per address. You must bring an ID with your current address on it or two pieces of mail addressed to you with your current address. For more information, call 763-691-9035.

Tuesday, Nov. 19: Friends of the Braham Library will be meet at 4 p.m. in the Sunday School wing of the Braham Lutheran Church. All interested are invited to attend.

Parkinson’s Support Group Meeting

Wednesday, Nov. 20: Parkinson’s Support Group will hold their regular monthly meeting from 10-11:30 a.m. at GracePointe Crossing, Commons Building, 1545 River Hills Parkway, Cambridge. Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, their families, friends, and caregivers are invited to attend. Come and enjoy the fellowship, light refreshments, share interests and concerns with others who are living with Parkinson’s.

Swedish Breakfast Club

Thursday, Nov. 21: The Swedish Breakfast Club will meet at 8 a.m. at the Dusty Eagle in Dalbo for all those interested in Swedish heritage and connections.

Harvest Dinner & Bake Sale

Thursday, Nov. 21: A Harvest Dinner & Bake Sale will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Braham Ev. Lutheran Church, 905 West Central Drive, Braham. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn, cole slaw, rolls, beverages and pie will be served. $9/adults, $5/ages 5-12 and under 5 free. $25 maximum per family. There will also be a quilt raffle.

Turkey & Ham Bingo & Chili Dinner

Sunday, Nov. 24: Turkey & Ham Bingo & Chili Dinner will be offered at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 207 Co. Rd. 23 NW, Isanti. Chili served beginning at 5 p.m. for $1 per bowl and served until gone. Bingo begins at 6 p.m. Coffee and popcorn free to bingo players. Pop and candy available at an additional cost. Sponsored by Isanti Knights of Columbus.
