Support needed for Li’l Farm Holiday Sale

Dear Editor:

It was one of those almost perfect summer days: the peacocks were busily strutting their beauty, the dogs were happily welcoming the visitors, and the sisters were there, Sister Margaret and Sister Francette, with their “we’re never too busy for you” smiles on their faces.

Granddaughter Ellie loves going to the Li’l Farm. This day she was excitedly feeding the animals, feeling their wet, rough tongues tickle her hands and their bodies rubbing against the fence enclosure to get closer and closer to her.

Bread and apples gone, she began playing with the children there, playing games that children enjoy — chasing and running happily. When we got into the car to leave, she said, “Oh, Grandma, those children wore me out!” She’s nine. Imagine.

It made me wonder, “How do the sisters do it?” The answer may be as simple as because they love greatly, because they have immense compassion, but certainly because they feel it is their calling.

So many, many of you show that love and compassion, too, for the sisters and the children with your continual support of the Li’l Farm. It is with excitement, therefore, that we once again welcome you to the Holiday Sale to benefit the Li’l Farm Children’s Home. But please, please note the date and time change. A presale will be held Friday, Dec. 6, from 4-7 p.m. There will be a $5 entrance fee for the presale. The sale will continue Saturday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

An added touch this year will be the sale of lattes, mochas, chai tea, hot chocolate and sandwiches and muffins to munch on provided by the I Love Coffee Minnesota Food truck with 20 percent profit going to the Little Farm.

If you can lend a helping hand for the set up, call me at 763-689-3716. We have a great time celebrating the sisters, the joy of the coming season, and working together.
