Lonnie was raised in North Minneapolis and at the age of 19 the family moved to Cedar, Minn. where he attended Anoka Technical College and graduated as a certified auto body technician. Lonnie was diagnosed Sept. 10, 2012 with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia which is very aggressive so much so that he was never able to reach full remission and didnt get the chance to have a bone marrow transplant but, he was a fighter he was strong and young and he fought a good fight always staying positive and he surprised even his Doctors by how long he had remained active. In July of this year Lonnie was told that the cancer was growing faster and they had exhausted all treatment options so, wanting to take control of his life he decided to reduce his visits at the University and just live out the rest of his life.
