WORKING SCHOOL BOARD MEETING MONDAY OCTOBER 14, 2013, 7:00 PM
BAHS COMMUNITY ROOM

The working meeting was called to order by Chair Steve Eklund at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was given.
Members present Steve Eklund, Max Eng, Zane Braund. Angie Flowers, Robert Hughes, Angie Flowers, Tony Cuda, Dan Klemz, Zane Braund and Supt. Gregory Members absent: None
Motion by T. Cuda, second by A. Flowers to adopt the agenda as printed. Carried.
The upcoming Levy Referendum was discussed. The public is invited to attend one of two informational meetings on October 23rd or October 28th in the Community Room (B100) at the high school at 7 p.m. Mr. Winter gave a very good explanation of the Levy Referendum. Becky Swanson, BEA President, will have a table at the Volleyball and Football games handing out fliers about the referendum.
Also, a contingency plan was discussed in the event the levy referendum would fail. Mr. Winter outlined a plan where there would be the possibility of staff and programming being cut. There could also be an increase in some of the fees assessed to student and gate fees.
The development of a District-wide Curriculum Committee was discussed. The curriculum delivery hasnt changed for a long time. Delivering a different type of education to our students needs to be done to keep up with the changing world. The board discussed the concept of a paradigm shift and its impact on moving forward. Mr. Winter discussed the need for an extensive amount of training for staff before moving to a 1:1 initiative. Along with the training, there would be a need for more tech support and a tech integration specialist
