The Cambridge-Isanti boys finished in seventh place and the girls were 10th when the Mississippi 8 cross country finals were run Oct. 16 on The Ponds GC in St. Francis.
Sophomore Bree Erickson posted the Bluejackets’ top placing when she finished 6th at 15:25 on the 4K course, earning All-Conference honors. Joining her on the C-I girls varsity squad were Ashley Winselman (53rd, 17:11), Maddie Oullette (64th, 17:41), Brittany White (71st, 18:13), and Kylie Guimont (75th, 19:47).
Junior Henry Boettcher paced the Bluejacket boys varsity by taking home M-8 Honorable Mention status with his 17:37 run in the 5K, good for 29th place. Filling out the C-I team card were Paden Hallman (39th, 17:46), Paul Elmstrand (44th, 18:14), Nate Wallman (46th, 18:22), and Nick Marshall (53rd, 18:41). Also running in the varsity race were Tyler Magnuson (58th, 18:52), and seniors Jared Oldenberg (64th, 19:16), James Moyer (69th, 19:53) and Adam Prins (77th, 21:16).
The Monticello girls defended their Mississippi 8 team title with another strong showing, and the St. Michael-Albertville boys held off a tight field for their championship.
• Amelia Utecht (22nd, 19:19) and Becca Knudson (24th, 19:26) posted the Bluejacket girls JV top times as the team finished fourth in that race. Leading the C-I boys JV to a sixth-place finish were Ray Abraham (28th, 19:29) and Tyler Braaten (40th, 20:06).
The Bluejacket middle school boys placed second to Big Lake, led by Cade Peck (6th, 11:08) and Jack Nelson (10th, 11:29). The C-I middle school girls grouped Brynna Guimont (12th, 13:37), Isabelle Schultz (13th, 13:38) and Autumn Schmit (14th, 13:40) while finishing fourth in their race.
Next up for the Jacket CC is the Section 7AA finals hosted back on the Cloquet Country Club course on Oct. 24.

Braham CC at Proctor Invite
The Braham boys ran to a seventh-place finish among 11 Class A teams at the Oct. 15 Proctor Invite. Logan Leavey came through with a team-low 17th place at 18:51. Running behind him were Connor TenNapel (23rd, 19:17), Thomas Warner (24th, 19:28), Nick Jones (54th, 20:56), Sam Foote (55th, 20:54) and Pen Sullivan (62nd, 21:45).
Rachel Eskuri finished in ninth place for the Bomber girls in the ‘A’ girls race, closing at 17:16. Jenna Winter added a 21:07 time in the girls varsity. Amanda Otto took first in the ‘A’ JV girls run at 18:42, and Kaitlyn Dordal was fifth.
The Bombers will travel to Milaca for the Section 5A championships on Oct. 24.
