Isanti VFW BINGO

Wednesdays: Isanti VFW Bingo is held every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. 5 games at $2 per game and $1,000 Progressive Cover All Game. The VFW is located at 410 Railroad Ave. So, and can be reached at 763-444-9787.

Fall family fun “Water Wonderland” at Green Barn

Through Oct. 31: Families are welcome to an indoor straw maze ($2.50 per person any age, under 2 free) open daily. Learn about water features and creatures found in oceans, rivers, lakes and ponds. Kids will also love to play in the corn kernel pit ($1.50 per person. Must be at least 2 yrs). Both are open daily through Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Don’t forget your camera. Thursday, Oct. 17: The Creamery Small Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Creamery Crossing in Isanti, organized through Spirit River Community Church.

Isanti County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Meeting

Thursday, Oct. 17: Isanti County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon invites the community to join their organization by attending their monthly Task Force Meeting. They meet the third Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Armed Forces Reserve Community Center, 505 Spirit River Drive S, Cambridge. Their next meeting is Oct. 17. Their mission is to support Isanti County’s military service members, veterans, and their families by coordinating services and resources available to them.

Self-Advocacy Fall fundraiser Fun Dance

Friday, Oct. 18: A Self-Advocacy Fall fundraiser Fun Dance will be held at Common Ground Methodist Church, 404 N. Cypress St., Cambridge. Dress up in a costume and be eligible to win a prize. 5:30-6:30 p.m. is dinner that includes pizza, chips  and dessert. 6:30-8:30 p.m. is the dance. $5. admission-self-advocates-$1 off if you bring can good for the local food shelf. $3 for staff and family. Cambridge Fiber Fair

Saturday, Oct. 19: The Cambridge Fiber Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Isanti County Fairgrounds in Cambridge. Visit farms from Isanti, Princeton, Stanchfield, Harris, Mora and other local sheep, alpaca and rabbit farms demoing spinning and many other fiber processing techniques. Supplies for spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, crocheting, and more. Sign up for different classes on knitting and spinning at www.cambridgefiberfair.com. The event is free to the public, and free parking. The Fiber Fair promotes the sale of domestically raised and processed fiber and fleece.

Ruby’s Pantry Food Distribution

Saturday, Oct. 19: Ruby’s Pantry Food Distribution will be held from 8-9:30 a.m. at Elim Baptist Church, 114 Dahlin Ave., Isanti. $15 donation.

Isanti Lions Pancake Breakfast

Sunday, Oct. 20: A Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Isanti Community Center. Pancakes, eggs, ham and beverages will be served. Cost is $6 for adults, and $5 for seniors and kids. Bacon available for an extra charge. Wear your cowboy hat and spurs and get a free strip of bacon. Funds will be used by Isanti Lions to purchase eye glasses for those who can’t afford them and for other community needs.

Sons of Norway Membership Meeting

Tuesday, Oct. 22: Rumelva Sons of Norway Lodge will hold its annual Membership Meeting at American Jane’s Restaurant in Cambridge (formerly the American Legion) 200 Second Ave. SE. Reservations are required as this is a dinner meeting. If you have not made reservations for yourself and your guests, call Gordy Hagfors as soon as possible at 763-689-3401. For this meeting only, guests should be those who have expressed interest in Sons of Norway and need more information. Sons of Norway is an international organization comprised of those who wish to learn about and preserve Scandinavian heritage.

Wednesday, Oct. 23: The Cambridge Senior Dance will be held at American Jane’s Grill & Bar (formerly Cambridge American Legion) from 1-4 p.m. with Dick Szyplinski. Henry John birthday party.

Memorial Blood Centers Blood Drive in Isanti

Thursday, Oct. 24: The Memorial Blood Centers will be holding their blood drive at the Isanti Community Center.  (From Co. Rd. 5, turn south onto 1st Ave. and then left at the Blood Drive sign.) This drive will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Your life-saving donation would be so appreciated.  Walk-ins are welcome or you can call Katie at 651-332-7162 for an appointment.

GracePointe Crossing Craft and Bake Sale
