Bombers get past Eagles for 7-0 record, aim for No. 1 seed for 7A playoffs

Braham survived five turnovers with a strong defensive effort while defeating East Central 22-8 Oct. 11. The Bombers are 7-0 heading into the Oct. 16 game at Hinckley-Finlayson.

Braham has clinched at least a share of the Great Polar Alliance Blue Division conference championship and can take the title outright with a road win over the Jaguars or an Aitkin loss against Crosby-Ironton. The Bombers are also seated in the No. 1 seed position for the Section 7A playoffs which begin Tuesday night, Oct. 22. They would host the No. 8 seed for the opener which is currently occupied by Cook County.

Against the Eagles at home Friday night, Braham cracked the scoreboard when John Larson found Zach Dahlman for a 10-yard scoring pass with 4:38 left in the first half. After a defensive stop, Larson snuck in a 1-yard touchdown run with just over a minute remaining for a 16-0 Bomber lead at the break.

The Bombers made it 22-0 midway through the third quarter when they finished off a drive with Tristan Marthaler’s 4-yard TD catch from Larson.
