Dale (Red) J. Peterson, 85, of Cambridge, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at GracePointe Crossing.
He was born April 4, 1928 to John and Myrtle Peterson of Braham, Minn. He attended school in Maple Ridge Township. After school, Red enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1948-1952. During this time he met his future wife Betty. They were married in 1952. He worked for Federated Co-ops Inc. for 40 plus years as a truck driver delivering propane gas to rural East Central Minnesota customers. He retired in 1992.
Red enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, watching sports, especially baseball, and spending time with his bakery friends with family. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 60 plus years; daughter RoAnn Peterson of Cambridge; son Greg Peterson of Chaska; grandchildren Justin (Amber) Peterson of Mora, Erik Peterson of Hutchinson, Amy Peterson of Renville, and Allison Peterson of Marshfield, Wis.; two great grandchildren, Breyanna and Brooklynn Peterson of Mora and 9 brothers and sisters.
Red was preceded in death by his father John, mother Myrtle and brother Myrlin.
A Memorial Service was held October 12, 2013 at the Cambridge Lutheran Church with Pastor Jon Pederson officiating, music by Gwen Anderson accompanied by Mary Kay ONeill. Pallbearers were the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Online condolences at www.carlsonlillemoen.com.
