The CIHS pool area was packed for Saturday’s Scott Sholund Invitational which saw the Bluejacket girls swim & dive team place 2nd to Elk River in the annual gathering.
The Cambridge-Isanti diving crew earned a pile of points for the team with the four members placing in the top six. Maria Leibel spun for consistently high scores on her final three dives to take 1st with 362.2 points. Taylor Weeks followed in 4th at 344.4, with Pamela Coranado (268.7) and Michaela Pasch (264.0) battling at 5th and 6th.
Katie Beauto won the 100 Butterfly with a 1:04.3 finish. Adding depth points in that event were Lillian Truebenbach (4th, 1:09.9), Elizabeth Berry (6th, 1:14.4) and Megan Berg (7th, 1:16.6). Beauto also led a strong C-I showing in the 100 Backstroke by placing 2nd at 1:05.3. Teammates just in back of her were Anna Sunderman (5th, 1:11.9) and Addie Smrekar (6th, 1:12.9).
The Jackets also stacked up solid placings in the 100 Breaststroke, led by Paige Thomas (3rd, 1:19.4), Laura Meier (6th, 1:20.9) and Megan Scheiller (8th, 1:22.9).

The Magic dipped the Jackets’ Mississippi 8 dual record to 2-3 with a road win Oct. 3. Boysen had a thrilling win by 2/100s of a second in the 500 Freestyle for C-I, finishing at 6:02.6. She also was 2nd in the 200 Free at 2:13.5.
Adding individual 2nd places were: Vavra in the 50 Free (27.4), Leibel in Diving (215.1), Peterson in the 100 Free (1:01.3), Beauto in the 100 Backstroke (1:06.7) and Thomas in the 100 Breaststroke (1:19.4).
