Braham remained one of six undefeated teams in Minnesota Class A football with a huge 28-6 road win over previously unbeaten Barnum Oct. 4. With two games left in the regular season, the Bombers have the seeding edge on Barnum and Deer River at the top of Section 7A.
In the damp and windy conditions up north, Braham worked downfield on its opening possession for a score when quarterback John Larson ran it in for a touchdown from the 7-yard line. The Bombers made it 14-0 late in the first quarter when Larson connected with Quinn Richmond on a 13-yard TD strike.
Barnum put together its best movement against the Braham defense late in the first half, reaching the Braham 30. But D-tackle Johnny Clemmer worked for a sack of the Barnum QB on a 4th-and-2 to quell that threat.
A stalemate third quarter preceded the Bombers tacking on two more scores in the fourth. Elijah Overton scored on a 1-yard yard early in the stanza, then Zach Dahlman finished a 125-yard receiving night with a 20-yard touchdown reception from Larson. Barnum, last season’s Section 7A champ, finally cracked the scoreboard with 3:52 left in the game.
Clemmer led the Bomber defense with 10 tackles. Larson added two interceptions, and Bone also picked off a pass in the victory.
