The Cambridge Center for the Arts, serving Cambridge, Isanti County and beyond, endeavors to make the arts available to all people.

CCFA offers a variety of art classes and music lessons, photography club, writers group, concerts, bus trips to arts and theater events. The Center is host to Play Inc. Community Theater, the East Central Children’s Chorus, Nordic Connection events, as well as visual arts exhibits.

Theater: “Leaving Iowa” is a family-friendly slice of life comedy that is a toast to the idealism and character of parents from the “greatest generation,” and a little roast of their dedication to the family road trip. This comedy about family and family vacations is a show suitable for ages 10 to 110.

Performances are at the Cambridge Lutheran Church  Fellowship Hall Oct. 11 and Oct. 12 at 7 p.m., and Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $8 through the Play Inc website, by clicking on “tickets,” or can be purchased at the door.

Gallery: “Uncommon Things,” Photography of Dee Ann Sibley, through Oct. 11.

“Fiber and Glass,” Beautiful works by fiber artist Becky Utecht and glass artist, Tony Scorza. A unique show, Oct. 25 through Nov. 21 at 144 SE Second Ave., Cambridge.

Classes: Photograph “iPhone/iPad Photography” (Smart Phones too) with Dee Kotaska. This class will focus on creating artistic photographs with the iphone or ipad and apps. The apps will be used in the creation of composite photos and the blending of two or more photos together. Three apps will be the focus: Juxtaposer; Image Blender; and Snapseed. While the class will focus on the iphone or ipad, information will be available for other smart phones as well. It is highly suggested that you purchase these three apps online for this class: Juxtaposer, Image Blender, and Snapseed. Bring your iphone or ipad to class fully charged.
