Rogers shuts down C-I Football

Rogers remained in control of Mississippi 8 Blue Division football with a 38-0 win over Cambridge-Isanti on the Royals’ Homecoming night Sept. 27. The Royals can take the title outright with a ‘Blue’ win over St. Michael on Oct. 16.

Gunnar Bloom rushed for 153 yards against the Bluejackets and scored two touchdowns, including a 76-yarder in the second quarter. The Royals converted a 36-yard field goal with 19 seconds left in the first half to lead 17-0.

Early in the third quarter, the Rogers defense sacked C-I quarterback John Solberg to force a fumble, and lineman Andrew Piehl  recovered the ball for a score and a 24-0 lead.Bloom and Nate Weber added second-half scores for the final difference.
