Ogilvie man killed in Tuesday car crash west of Isanti

A 54-year-old Ogilvie man has died following a collision with a garbage truck in Isanti County shortly after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Grover D. Humphrey, 54, of Ogilvie, driving a 1998 Saturn, was heading southbound on Highway 47, just north of County Road 5, west of Isanti.

The State Patrol said Humphrey crossed into the northbound lane where he collided with Joseph R. Hecht, 38, of Cambridge.

Hecht, driving a 2008 Peterbuilt garbage truck, swerved onto the right shoulder to avoid the collision, but was struck by the Saturn on the left front of his truck.
