This fall, Cambridge Medical Center and the North Branch Clinic, part of Allina Health, are partnering again with Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4K), a non-profit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a healthier, happier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., both locations are collecting gently use or new bikes. The donated bikes will go through a cleanup and maintenance process, then distributed to local kids in December.

Last year Cambridge Medical Center and North Branch Clinic collected 160 bikes and worked with community partners to identify kids in need. Medical Center employees, physicians and K.C. Bohn, along with his staff from Outdoor Edge, volunteered time and expertise to refurbish bikes for their new owners.

“We were happy to help,” said K.C. Bohn owner of Outdoor Edge. “We look forward to helping out again. It was very rewarding and it is great to put bikes in the hands of kids that need them.”
