Jacket volleyball knocks down Wildcats

Cambridge-Isanti defeated Chisago Lakes in four games Sept. 19, taking the Mississippi 8 match 25-19, 19-25, 25-15, 25-22. The victory evened the Bluejackets’ conference record at 2-2.

Claire Sheehan paced the Jackets at the net with 24 kills. Also providing kills against the Wildcats were Korbyn Felde 913), Chloey Sheehan (4), and Taylor Glotzbach (4). Sydney Larkin set up 40 assists on the evening to quarterback the offense.

Sheehan also led the defense with 34 digs, followed by Larkin (15), Felde (14), Shelby Sjodin (11), Elle Larkin (11) and Glotzbach (8).

The Bluejackets added a 3-1 non-conference victory at Coon Rapids Sept. 24, winning 17-25, 25-10, 25-21, 25-21. The squad travels north for the annual Duluth East Invite this Saturday.

Bombers pick up two GRC wins

Braham remained ahead of Aitkin in the Great River volleyball standings with two victories in five nights. On Sept. 19, the Bombers swept rival Pine City 25-15, 25-19, 25-10.

Then in a barn-burner at Isle Sept. 24, Braham improved to 7-0 in GRC matches with a 25-13, 18-25, 25-11, 23-25, 15-11 win over the Huskies.
