Fans on both sides enjoyed a good Great Polar Blue scrum last Friday when Braham hosted Rush City. The Bombers paid back the Tigers for a loss to open last season by holding for a 23-15 victory.
The Bomber defense played its third-straight solid game, limiting RC to 153 total yards. Senior linebacker Alex Sutton led the way with three tackles-for-losses amid his 14 total stops, including a safety with 8:43 to play.
Braham opened the scoring with John Larson connecting with Zach Dahlman for a 5-yard TD toss in the first quarter. The Bombers took a 13-0 lead into the half break after Larson found Noah Bone on a 53-yard scoring strike 1:37 left in the second.
Off a fake punt in the third quarter, Larson and Dahlman hooked up on a 65-yard TD pass that had their team ahead 21-0. The Tigers rallied with a 62-yard scoring reception on the next play, and they were within 21-15 on a 7-yard TD run on their following possession.
• Next up: The Bombers head to the lake country for a conference contest at Crosby-Ironton.
