Rum River East is the newest addition to the education programs operated by the Rum River Special Education Cooperative.
The Rum River East Program will be hosting an open house from 4:30-7:30 pm. Sept. 16.
This program serves students with disabilities from the member districts of the Rum River Special Education Cooperative: Braham, Cambridge-Isanti, Isle, Milaca, Mora, Ogilvie and Princeton.
Rum River East is a 9-12 grade High School program for students with disabilities. This program is located at 1730 Third Ave. NE in Cambridge in the former Ace Hardware store.
Rum River East is unique program that it is designed to provide academic and functional programming to students with disabilities to facilitate their progress from school to adulthood.
The services provided include post-secondary education, vocational education, integrated employment (including supported employment), independent living, or community participation.
The Rum River East program features the Practical Assessment Exploration System (PAES® Lab). The PAES Lab provides students with disabilities instruction in skills to obtain jobs in the real world through a simulated work environment.
