Weekly Farmer’s Markets

Ongoing: There will be a weekly Cambridge-Isanti Farmer’s Market happening May through October on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Cambridge at the City Center Market and Isanti on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Riverside Market.

Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution

Thursday, Sept. 5: A Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution hosted by Cambridge UPC Church at 210 10th Ave. SW, Cambridge (Renting the Seventh Day Adventists Church) will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. For questions, or if you need a ride, call Pastor David L. Willis at 651-674-8842. Bread Distributions are held the first Thursday of each month from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Cambridge Community Blood Drive

Isanti Family Farmer’s Market

Friday, Sept. 6: The Isanti Family Farmer’s Market is held every Friday from 2:30-6:30 p.m. at Eagle Park, 18 Broadway St. SW, downtown Isanti. Friends of the Isanti Area Library will have a booth at the Market Aug. 30. Books and totes will be available. Gerdin Cemetery Association Meeting

North Country Hillbillys Car, Truck Show

Saturday, Sept. 7: The 8th Annual North County Hillbillys Car and Truck Show will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Braham Covenant Church, Highways 4 & 107. Register on site, and custom dash plaques will be given to first 50 entrant. Prize drawings and live gospel music throughout the day. Participate in the “Valve Cover Race” at 1 p.m.  The “Slow Ride Race” will be at 2 p.m. and the Muffle Rap Contest at 3 p.m. No entry fee, but a nonperishable food item for the food shelf is appreciated. Classic Car Show at North Isanti Baptist

Sunday, Sept. 8: A Classic Car Show at North Isanti Baptist Church, 2248 313th Ave. NE, Cambridge, will begin at 12:15 p.m. with registration beginning at 9 a.m. New sermon series by Pastor Travis Blake, “Ephesians: Fully Equipped, Ready to Ride,” will begin at the worship service at 11 a.m. The classic car show is at 12:15 p.m. and the picnic is at 12:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. Pork Chop Dinner at Christ the King Church

Sunday, Sept. 8: Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge will host its annual “Pork Chop Dinner” from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Catholic Parish Hall, 230 N. Fern St. The public is invited to enjoy a delicious dinner, as well as a bake sale, kids carnival, and a silent auction that will end at 1:15 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $9.50 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12 with five and under eating free.

Bingo offered in Braham

Sunday, Sept. 8: Starting Sunday, Sept. 8, Bingo will be held at Zimmer Hall at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1050 Southview Ave., Braham. Lunch served 12:30-1:30 p.m. by Sts. Peter and Paul youth group. Bingo from 2-4 p.m. Bring family, friends and neighbors for a fun filled afternoon. Other dates are: Oct. 13, Oct. 27 and Nov. 10. PFLAG Meeting

Sunday, Sept. 8: The next meeting of the East Central MN Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays will be held at 4:30 p.m. at Common Ground, the Cambridge United Methodist Church, 404 North Cypress, Cambridge. Special Presentation on Lands and Waters

Thursday, Sept. 12: Laura Durenberger-Grunow, volunteer manager for Great River Greening will speak on, “Securing the Legacy of Minnesota Lands and Waters.” Great River Greening has ecological expertise in natural resource and water quality management and focuses on volunteer activities that offer conservation impact, ecosystem services and community benefits. Projects include native planting design, restoration and stabilization of shore lands, planting of native trees and wildflowers and exotic species removal.
