The China House restaurant in Isanti will now offer indoor seating.
During the Isanti City Council meeting Tuesday, Aug. 20, the council approved a resolution to allow for indoor seating at the restaurant located at 303 Credit Union Drive NE.
Planning and Parks Director Lisa Wilson explained in her staff memo that the conditional use permit issued for the location only allows for delivery and take-out only.
Wilson explained owner Sen Lin originally requested 16 seats for the restaurant. However, after discussions with building official Rick Sames, it was determined per building code since the restaurant has only bathroom, no more than 15 individuals can be inside the location at one time.
Based upon having three employees, and two individuals coming in for take-out, the restaurant could accommodate up to 10 seats for persons wishing to eat inside the restaurant. Wilson indicated Lin will have to make sure there are no more than 15 individuals inside the restaurant at one time.
In other action the council:
• Approved a resolution authorizing a contract for electrical inspection services with Eugene Boyle, and amending the city code and adopting fees relating to this service.
