House fire displaces family, ignites community support

The Lonny and Kari Olson family, of Isanti, has experienced overwhelming support after they lost their rental home and most of their possessions to a house fire that started in their garage Aug. 6.

With no renters insurance, the family of seven has relied on the generous support of their friend Marci Le Tourneau and other community members who have helped to move the family into a temporary home in Bradford and donated items they have needed for their daily living.

The family is looking for a rental home in the Cambridge-Isanti School District where their children, ages 5 months to 13, attend school.

Lonny Olson has been grateful for the community support he and his family have received so far. The family has a donation fund setup at Wells Fargo Bank of Cambridge under Lonny and Kari Olson.

Their needs are many and include clothing, diapers, baby wipes, baby bottles and spoons, toiletry items, laundry soap, towels, cat food and cat litter.
