Prairie Senior Cottages of Isanti, an assisted living center specializing in memory care, will host a special event to celebrate its Grand Opening from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 24.

All are welcome to join for refreshments, hors d’oevres, music and special guided tours.

Prairie Senior Cottages is dedicated to providing the finest in assisted living care. They offer personal living options, including, holistic memory support for residents and families, in a protected, comfortable, therapeutic environment that helps residents maintain dignity and self-esteem as they and their families live with dementia.

The Cottages uses a holistic approach in helping residents and their families cope with the effects of memory loss while maintaining dignity and self-esteem. There overall philosophy is to help those in their care succeed in daily living, be themselves and live as normally as possible.

This philosophy is reflected not only in the services they offer, but also by their cottage design and the individualized care and acceptance they provide. Each side of the cottage is distinctively decorated to help residents recognize their home neighborhood-farm side and lake side.

Prairie Senior Cottages strive to provide a meaningful experience for each resident and family member.  On Thursday, July 25, they had their first family fun night, and each month they will host a themed party for residents and their families.

Their first theme was “Rodeo” night where each resident had a cowboy attire along with family members who dressed for the special occasion. The party featured a photo booth, roppin’ wrangler the steer, panning for gold and an array of food.

“It brought tears to my eyes to see all the laughter and smiles,” said Brittany Ross, LPN. Another family member added, “I think mom lost five pounds from laughing tonight.”
