Sled heads can start salivating for the upcoming winter riding season when the 20th annual Outlaw Grass Drags are again hosted on the northwest side of Princeton.
Vintage snowmobile racing in 19 classes kick off the Grass Drags on Friday night, followed by bracket racing for newer models in 14 classes on Saturday and Sunday. More draws for the weekend include an ATV test ride course, acres of snowmobile accessory vendors, a swap meet and a vintage snowmobile show.
Two restored vintage snowmobiles– a 1973 Arctic Cat Lynx and a 1977 Polaris TX 440– will be raffled off at the gathering. Also, $100 winners will be drawn every hour over the three days, with $2,000 total in cash giveaways.
The Outlaw Grass Drags are hosted by the Rum River Trail Association, with proceeds going toward improvements to area snowmobile trails. Clubs making up the association are the Grandy Northern Lites, Cambridge Drift Dusters, Mystic Riders of Princeton, Milaca Rum River Sno Riders, St. Francis Sno Ghosts and the Anoka Winter Knights.
