First Baptist to host Aug. 18 celebration
In 1887 people from the Tamarack Church (presently North Isanti Baptist) built a church in the village of Cambridge. The next year, 1888, they gave up 36 of their members to organize the work of the new church. And on Nov. 14, 1888, they gathered to organize First Swedish Baptist Church of Cambridge.
On Sunday, Aug. 18, there will be a time to celebrate the arrival of FBC on Main Street. It will take place outdoors on church grounds at 304 Main St. S from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Joel Reiter will be speaking at the service at 11 a.m. followed by lunch and games from 1-3 p.m. It will be a family celebration. This will be a time to worship, eat together, play games and review church history. The Mystery Mountain Boys will provide music. They are blessed to be part of that great calling and to acknowledge all the years that God has been faithful to them. Invite your children, bring lawn chairs or a blanket, and all are welcome to join them.
