Peter Benedict Leeb was born April 18, 1947 in Little Falls to Christ and Dorothy (Reznicek) Leeb. Pete attended school Cove School for six years, Onamia for two years and graduated from Anoka High School in 1965. He was united in marriage to Doretta Martfeld on May 7, 1966 at Ascension Church in North Minneapolis. In 1966 he was drafted into the Army and served honorably with the 101st Artillery Division. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colo. and returned home to Minnesota in 1968. In 1970 they made their home in Cambridge.
Pete was a window cleaner for Columbia. Then went on to be a union carpenter for numerous construction companies. He retired in 2004 as a superintendent for Hillcrest Development.
Pete enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. He was also competitive, enjoying softball, bowling, golfing and trapshooting. He passed time by doing crossword puzzles and playing cribbage.
Peter is survived by his wife, Doretta of Cambridge; three children, Chris (Carin) Leeb of Brook Park, Kellie (Kenny) Felde of Stanchfield, Matt (Buffy) Leeb of Cambridge; six grandchildren, (honorary pallbearers) Emily, Christian, Zachariah, Kaitlyn (Ryan), Korbyn and Wyatt; seven sisters, Pat (Alfred) Hoskins of Hillman, Dee (Don) Gross of Oak Grove, twin sister, Kateri (Lenny) Elliot of Crystal, Tena (Geno) Czech of Coon Rapids, Kim (Rick) Jackson of Elk River, Tracy (Mike) Dooley of Stacy, Penny Leeb of Isanti; three brothers, Tom Leeb of Isanti, Bill (Rita) Leeb of Blaine, Wally (Kay) Leeb of Coon Rapids; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Lila (Jack), Gene, Ardis (John), Dean (Shirley), Verla (Donald – Life Long Best Friend), Levi, Audrey (Brion); numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vanessa; and faithful companion, Coco.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Spring Lake Lutheran Church with Pastor Linda Wahlstrom officiating. Friends may gather 1 hour before the service at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel.
