Church league and 35-Over Men’s State tourneys at Sandquist Park

The MSF State Church tourney and the MSF/NSF Men’s State Masters B/C slowpitch softball tournaments will all be hosted July 27-28 at Sandquist Family Park. The MSF Church tourney, with five Dalbo Ministerial Softball League teams participating, kicks off 9 a.m. Saturday morning and finishes with a 5:30 p.m. championship game that night.

The Class C 35-Over pool play tourney begins at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. East Central Transportation and Team Fickle will represent the C-I Men’s Masters league in the tourney which carries into Sunday 1:40 p.m. finals at Sandquist Park.

In the Class B pool play set up, Kostecka Farms of the Cambridge-Isanti 35-Over League opens at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon against Jimmy’s Pourhouse of Sauk Rapids. Games continue into late Sunday morning.

2013 Fall Softball Leagues now forming

Fall leagues for Cambridge-Isanti slowpitch are forming. Men’s Fall League begins Monday Aug. 12, Competitive Fall Co-Rec starts Wednesday, Aug. 14, and Recreation Fall Co-Rec League starts Thursday, Aug. 15.

To get a team in a fall league, bring a $100 deposit, a team name, and a manager/representative to a mandatory meeting on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. at Sandquist Park.

C-I Softball Leagues feature tight races

With the 2013 summer season winding down, tight races are evident in all three Cambridge-Isanti slowpitch leagues. In the Wednesday night Women’s League, the Jailbirds lead the Beavers and Misfits by one game.

The ECL Big Guys are living up to their name, leading the Thursday night Men’s League by one game over Patriot Lanes. In Tuesday night Men’s 35-Over action, East Central Transportation opened a one game lead over Kostecka Farms. Those teams battled against each other July 23.
