Dean Robert Wentworth, 62, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West where he has resided the past three years. Recently Dean had spent 16 days at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
He was born on November 3, 1950 in Braham to Glenn and Margaret (Treichel) Wentworth. As an infant, he was baptized at the Cambridge Lutheran Church. At the young age of nine, he experienced severe Rheumatic fever. Dean attended Bradford Country School through the 6th grade and graduated in 1968 from Cambridge High School. Upon graduation he attended Granite Falls Tech School and attained a degree as a Hydraulic Engineering Technician. He also spent two more years of practical experience at FMC in Minneapolis.
Dean was preceded in death by his father Glenn; nephew Joel Douglas Wentworth; grandparents Iva and Albert Treichel; paternal grandparents Jennie and Robert Wentworth; uncle Wendell Treichel as well as several aunts and other relatives.
Dean is survived by his mother Margaret Wentworth of Cambridge; brothers Doug (Carol) Wentworth of Stilwell, KS and David Wentworth of Cambridge; nieces Joy (Randy) Thompson of Eagan, Dr. Nicole (Kip) Hartung of Wayzata; nephew Nicholas Wentworth; grandniece Miranda Thompson; grandnephews Weston, Max and Cooper Hartung; aunts Wayve Lindroth Cambridge, and Carol (Chet) Leider of Zimmerman; uncle Dale Treichel of St. Paul; uncle Dean Russell (Genmary) Wentworth of Cambridge, aunt Karen (Bruce) Westberg of Springvale, as well as other cousins, relatives, and friends at GracePointe Crossing Gables West.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Cambridge Lutheran Church with Rev. Andy Romstad officiating. Special music was provided by Kenny Krona and Gwen Anderson. Pallbearers were David Wentworth, Marvin Rod, Randy Thompson and Kip Hartung. Interment will be in the Cambridge Union Cemetery. Online condolences at www.carlsonlillemoen.com.
