Summer Fun with Science and Art

Thursday, June 20: Join the Heavenly Sunshine Preschool staff from 9 a.m. to noon for some summer fun. They will keep everyone busy with creative art projects, messy science experiments, outdoor fun and lunch. Open to kids age 3-10 years. $5 per child (lunch included). Free Community Dinner

Thursday, June 20: A free Community Dinner will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Use the downstairs entrance. Everyone is welcome to join. Call the church office at 763-444-9201 with questions.

Isanti Family Farmers Market

Friday, June 21: The Isanti Family Farmers Market will be held every Friday from now through September from 2:30-6:30 p.m. at Eagle Park, 18 Broadway St. SW, in downtown Isanti. Scandinavian Saxophone Quartet

Friday, June 21: The Cambridge Center for the Arts presents the Scandinavian Saxophone Quartet at 7 p.m. at the New Hope Community Church, 145 SE 2nd Ave., across the street from the Arts Center. The Spirit River Scandiband will also perform. A reception and Nordic Arts Show will follow the concert at the Cambridge Center for the Arts.

Scandinavian Breakfast Fundraiser

Saturday, June 22: There will be a Scandinavian Breakfast Fundraiser from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Cambridge Lutheran Fellowship Hall. Tickets are a $6 donation and must be purchased by June 19. Tickets are available from the Cambridge Lutheran Relay for Life team members or at the church office. They can also be purchased by calling Barb at 763-689-4692 or Carol at 763-689-3901. Lefse Scramble with ham, eggs and cheese, rice pudding, fruit soup, apple juice and coffee will be served.

Thrivent sponsors movie for families

Saturday, June 22: Thrivent-sponsored family event/fundraiser for Lil’ Farm at GTI Theatre in Cambridge at 9 a.m. “Monster University” (rated G) will be shown. $4 cost (cash only) to movie goers. The ticket price includes a charitable donation matched by Isanti Chapter of Thrivent Financial. Bring money for pet food or pet food for Lil’ Farm Children’s Home. Also, prizes for adults.

Rice Lake Cemetery Memorial Service

Sunday, June 23: The Annual Rice Lake Cemetery Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. at Rice Lake Cemetery. In case of rain, the service will be held at Braham Ev. Lutheran Church.

Together in Recovery

Sunday, June 23: The Christian-based recovery group, Together in Recovery, will meet from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. at Spirit River Community Center, 1320 Co. Rd., 5 NE, Isanti (Spectacular Events). All are welcome.

Sons of Norway Meeting

Tuesday, June 25: Sons of Norway Rum Elva Lodge will meet at 7 p.m. for a Midsommer’s Eve Celebration picnic at Dave and Ann Saterbak’s farm between Cambridge and Princeton. Call for directions. In case of inclement weather, they will meet at SAC’s on Third, 322 Third Ave. NW, Cambridge. All are welcome to attend. Entertainment will be provided by visiting Swedish troubadour Joel Karlsson. Students present information on Charities

Tuesday, July 9: Anoka Ramsey Community College – Intro. to Communication students will share information on local, national and global charities in the form of an open house poster fair. They will be available to answer questions, and provide handouts as well so you can become involved too. The fair will be held at GracePointe Crossing-Mill Ridge Terrace, 235 Fern St. N at 6 p.m.
