Join Thrivent Financial for a morning movie

Dear Editor:

I’ve been a Thrivent Financial for Lutheran member non-stop since I was a baby.  My membership started when my parents, Gordon and Phyllis Hass bought a life insurance for me shortly after my birth.  And, I’ve been involved in this fraternal organization as a volunteer leader at the congregational and county chapter for more than 30 years simply because Thrivent does good things for good people and good organizations.

Here’s an example of a Thrivent-sponsored community combined with a fundraiser: Family Movie Event. The Family Movie Event which will be held Saturday, June 22, at the GTI Theatre in Cambridge. “Monster University” will be shown at 9 a.m.

Thrivent is picking up part of the ticket price to help families with the affordability of the movie. Thrivent is asking movie goers to bring a donation of cash or animal feed for Lil’ Farm Children’s Home Inc. animals (cat, dog, bird and feed corn). These animals are used as therapy for children at this home. Plus, there will be prizes for the adults that attend the event.

I just thought it would be worthwhile for me to share with my community an example of what Thrivent is all about.  Thrivent Financial is a business, but part of its business is to strengthen Christian communities by helping members be wise with money and inspiring them to live generously.

Isanti County Chapter President
