CIHS holds theatre, speech awards night

This group of students won the “GEEK” award, meaning that they were in all three of the productions this year at Cambridge-Isanti High School.


Cambridge-Isanti High School held its “Night of the Stars” May 23 to honor students who have achieved great things in speech and theatre this year.

Mikaela Kase was chosen as Outstanding Speech Student of 2013.

Honored were those that stood out as actors and actresses such as Adam Peterson (Best Supporting Actor) who played the lead role in “Seussical” as Horton the Elephant; Jordan Zurn was awarded Best Actor for his role as the Cat in the Hat in “Seussical” and Elwood P. Dowd in “Harvey.  Mikaela Kase was awarded Best Actress for her role of Gertrude McFuzz in “Seussical and Veta Louise Simmons in “Harvey.

Additional awards were given for speech for those students who earned All Conference and those students who went on to compete at the State speech meet, which included Megan Hovinen, Mikaela Kase, Adam Peterson and Jordan Zurn.
