Baccalaureate Service honoring CIHS seniors

Wednesday, May 22: The Baccalaureate Service will be held at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Cambridge-Isanti High School. It is a non-denominational worship service honoring the class of 2013.

Garage Sale at Spirit River

Saturday, May 25: “Name your price Garage Sale,” will be held at Spirit River Community Center, 1320 Co. Rd. 5 NE, Isanti, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Together in Recovery

Sunday, May 26: The Christian-based recovery group, Together in Recovery, will meet from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. at Spirit River Community Center, 1320 Co. Rd., 5 NE, Isanti (Spectacular Events). Use the entrance on the north side of the building to maintain confidentiality (look for the sign). All are welcome.

Greenberg Car Show/Swap Meet

Sons of Norway Meeting

Tuesday, May 28: Sons of Norway Rum Elva Lodge will meet at 7 p.m. at SAC’s on Third in Cambridge, 332 3rd Ave. NW. Men and women are invited to come and visit this friendly group and enjoy programs on Nordic culture. This month they will have a potluck meal together to celebrate Syttende May (May 17, Norwegian Constitution Day). Sons of Norway is an organization that promotes and preserves the heritage and culture of Norway, and celebrates their relationship with other Nordic countries. One need not be Norwegian to attend. Wednesday, May 29:  Spirit River Community Church will hold a Prayer Gathering at 1 p.m. at Rendezvous Coffee in Isanti, 310 Dahlin Ave.

Remember those at State Hospital Cemetery

Thursday, May 30: The community is invited to remember those who lived and died at Cambridge State Hospital by participating in a flower planting and clean up at the State Hospital Cemetery, located west of the Isanti County Government Center on 18th Avenue. The event is hosted by the Isanti County Self Advocacy organization, and will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. with a potluck following at Heritage Park, 1455 Fern St. South. Bring a dish to share. Plant Sale at Cambridge Community Gardens

Saturday, June 1: A large plant sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cambridge Community Gardens. (South on Main Street to 18th Ave. SW, turn right and park behind the Community Garden on East Rum River Drive.) This will be your only chance this year to purchase several varieties of plants (perennials, annuals, vegetables and fruit) that have been grown and nurtured by the certified University of Minnesota Master Gardeners of Isanti County.
