For the second straight spring, Braham’s Caitlin Richmond finished as the top girls golfer in the Great River Conference.
At the May 15 GRC Championships hosted on Rush Meadows GC, Richmond put up the medalist score of 82, earning her the GRC MVP award for 2013.
Joining her on the All-Conference team was freshman Ali Anderson who closed with a 105 on Wednesday. The Bomber girls were 3rd overall on the season with a 432 at Rush Meadows, with Courtney Vanderport (115) and Ariel Ramsted (130) filling the card. Mille Lacs edged Moose Lake-Willow River by one stroke (406-407) at the meet.
• Senior Dylan Altendorf led the Bomber boys at the meet with an 88 to lock in an All-Conference spot. Braham closed with a 375 and finished in 4th place overall behind champ Mille Lacs.
Senior Brandon Brown fired an 89 on the course, followed by Hunter Richmond (98), Terry Gruba (100), Quinn Richmond (102) and Kyle Johnson (120).
Next up for the Bombers are the May 29-29 Section 4A tourneys on Victory Links and Greenhaven.
C-I Girls Golf
The Bluejacket girls hosted the May 15 Mississippi 8 meet on the Purple Hawk, finishing 5th with a 401. Anna Sunderman fired a strong 41 on the back to lead C-I with an 88. Also shooting for the Jackets were Jade Newman (96), Megan Koester (108), Jade Lamb (109), Evan Gorham (115) and Amelia Utecht (117).
On Thursday, Newman paired a couple 45 rounds for a 90 on the tough St. Cloud CC when the Jackets placed 16th at the St. Cloud Invite. Sunderman (96), Koester (101), Lamb (103), Dagne Gorham (120), and Utecht (121) also got in rounds.
C-I Boys Golf
Also at the May 16 St. Cloud Invite, Matt Swanson was meet medalist with a 74 when the Bluejacket boys placed 9th with a 320. Erik Maltrud (84) and Spencer Harvey (79) shot career-lows, and Evan Dunbar added an 84.
On May 15 at The Territory, Swanson placed 6th with his 76. Maltrud (84), Harvey (92) and Seth Kirkeide (94) came through with the next best rounds for the Bluejackets.
