Cambridge-Isanti was seeded 5th for the 7AA South Subsection Team tourney which opens Monday, May 20. The Bluejackets (4-9) will travel to No. 4 Andover (2-11) for Monday’s match, with the winner traveling to top-seed Elk River (20-1) on Tuesday, May 21.
Chisago Lakes (11-4) and Forest Lake (3-12) are the Nos. 2 and 3 seeds in the other half of the brackets.
• On May 23 in St. Francis, the 7AA Individuals tourney begins at 9 a.m. Representing the Bluejackets in Singles are No. 7 seed Destin Modina and No. 11 Rafael Hernando.
Braham and C-I Softball Playoffs
Braham (4-9) will open the 5A East Subsection Softball tourney at Ogilvie (5-6) on Monday, May 20 (4:30 p.m.) in a No. 4 vs. 5 seed game. The winner will likely travel to No. 1 seed Rush City on Tuesday, May 21. The Tigers (11-3) were the Great River Conference champions this spring.
Section 5A Subsections continue May 23 at Mora and Minnewaska.
• Cambridge-Isanti (6-9) was seeded 8th for the Section 7AAA tournament. The Bluejackets will host No. 9 Blaine (4-14) on Wednesday, May 22 (4:30 p.m.).
The victor will then face top-seed and six-time defending section champ Forest Lake (18-2) on Saturday, May 25 at Duluth’s Wheeler Park (10 a.m.). Games continue at Wheeler Park until it’s whittled down to four teams for the May 29-30 section tourney at Chisago Lakes.
