North Folk Winery (formerly known as Stark Wines) officially begins its regular weekend hours at Spring Opener on May 11.
In celebration of their 2013 season, and in keeping with their promotion of “local,” live performances of local folk musicians will take place throughout the day.
The Mad Cow Band (Ogilvie) will start the day off at noon with their foot stomping array of Celtic and folk, followed by Christopher Laumb (St. Cloud) with his blues-influenced rock of the 1990s, and great stories from his family’s Norwegian immigrant past. The day will end with favorite, Paul Metza, (Iron Range), guitarist/folksinger/eclectic musician collaborating with the great soul and blues singer, Willie Walker (Butanes).
Enjoy the great local entertainment while drinking a glass of your favorite North Folk Winery wine. The wine list includes some old favorites as well as new varietals and blends. Appetizers also provided to pair with your favorite wine.
The Vinsted (wine tasting room) continues to expand with additional seating on the new timber frame front deck and combination crush pad/dance floor in the back yard. Tours of the wine production area will be offered throughout the day.
North Folk Winery is located at 43150 Blackhawk Road in Harris. For more information call 651-674-7548 or visit www.starkwines.com.
