Braham Elementary School was awarded the $10,000 School Health Connection grant this fall and $1,000 was dedicated to a student-generated idea on what could increase the health and fitness of their students.
The fifth and sixth grade students were invited to compete in an essay. Several suggestions were: purchasing gymnastics equipment for physical education classes, adding Frisbee golf to the curriculum, build an obstacle course around the school, etc.
The winning idea was to purchase a swinging bars apparatus for the playground. Thank you to Allina Health for making this addition to the playground possible
