Community Wide Read Author to Speak

Thursday, May 2: 2013 One Book Cambridge Community Wide Read program author, Peter Geye, will share and discuss his novel, “Safe From the Sea.” The event will take place at the Cambridge Campus of Anoka Ramsey Community College in Room G202 at 7 p.m.

Spring Concert at Cambridge Campus

Friday, May 3: A Spring Concert at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Cambridge Campus will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Juanita and Charles Peterson Community Room. The concert is free and open to the public.

Breakfast to Benefit Church Youth Group

Saturday, May 4: A Hot Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. hosted by the Dale Evangelical Free Church youth group. There will be a free will donation with proceeds going to the Poland Evangelical Mission. Dale Evangelical Free Church, 45268 Brunswick Rd., Harris.

Isanti Garage Sale Day

Saturday, May 4: Isanti Garage Sale Day will be held beginning at 8 a.m. If you have goods that do not sell, you may drop them off at the Isanti Ice Arena between 5 to 7 p.m. that will be collected by the Salvation Army.

MS Walk Cambridge and Surrounding Area

Sunday, May 5: MS Walk Cambridge and surrounding area will be held beginning from 10 to 11 a.m. There is a 1.5 mile or 3.5 mile route. Register at www.myMSwalk.org or call 1-800-582-5296. It will starting at Cambridge Community College and end at Cambridge City Park. There will be food, water, snacks, entertainment, face painting and drawing for prizes.

Helios Masonic Lodge Pancake Breakfast

Sunday, May 5: Helios Masonic Lodge #273 will host a Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cakes, eggs, sausage, juice and coffee will be served. $6 donation. Under 6 years is free. Located at 2nd & Cypress St. SW, Cambridge.

Braham Girl Scouts Mexican Fundraiser

Sunday, May 5: Join the Braham Area Girl Scouts for its Family Fundraiser and help support the Girl Scouts organization. The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Braham. It will include a silent auction, activities, music, games and Mexican food and treats.

Youth Groups at Spirit River

Sunday, May 5: Spirit River Kid’s Klub (Grades 1-3) & 456 Fellowship (Grades 4-6) will meet at Spirit River Community Center at 5:30 p.m. Meals will be provided to all families, and a nursery will be available. Spirit River is at 1320 Co. Rd., 5 NE, Isanti (Spectacular Events).

Together in Recovery

Sunday, May 5: The Christian-based recovery group, Together in Recovery, will meet from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. at Spirit River Community Center, 1320 Co. Rd., 5 NE, Isanti (Spectacular Events). Use the entrance on the north side of the building to maintain confidentiality (look for the sign). All are welcome.

Meeting for Friends of the Braham Library

Tuesday, May 7: There will be a meeting of the Friends of the Braham Library at 4:30 p.m. in the District Conference Room at the Braham High School. Construction of the Braham Area Community Center is underway following the groundbreaking on May 1. There is space reserved in the building for the current Drop Site Library as well as future expansion to a Link site. The meeting will be to discuss what is needed in that room and how to make the library a vital part of the community and area. Everyone interested in the library project in Braham is encouraged to attend.
