Mom was born Jan. 6, 1941 in South Sioux City, Neb. at home to Lilly and William Boland. In 1959 she married her first love, Herman Taft McGonnigil and they had five children; Jeannie Colbaugh (Mark), Michael McGonnigil (MaryAnn), Linda Leight (James), Barbara Brown (Mike), William McGonnigil. At 25 she was widowed and raised her family alone.
Eighteen years later she met and married the second love of her life, Donald Mark Colbaugh (passed 8/6/12). Together they shared eight children, 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is proceed in death by her parents, siblings, a son, stepson, grandchild and friends.
Mom enjoyed shopping for quilting material as much as making the quilts for the people in her life she loved. She enjoyed her daily tea party and will be greatly missed.
Mom and I spent a lot of time at the U of M on the East Bank and we want to thank the staff of the 4th, 5th and 6th floors for all the care they gave her.
