Learn to Draw classes
Saturday, April 20 & 27: This two day workshop is designed to encourage and inveigle the student to develop the habit of drawing. Beginners and experienced drawers alike will use drawing exercises that sharpen the “eye” and loosen the hand motion. Drawing from a live clothed model, you will capture the “gesture” of the figure. $60 Nonmembers, $50 members. Price includes materials and model fee. Saturday, April 20: Ruby’s Food Pantry Distribution will be held at Elim Baptist Church, 114 Dahlin Ave., Isanti, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. $15 donation.
Pancake Breakfast to benefit St. Scholastica School
Sunday, April 21: The Christ the King Knights of Columbus Council 12813 in Cambridge will hold a Pancake Breakfast at the Catholic Parish Hall from 8 a.m. to noon. All proceeds will be given to St. Scholastica School. Cost of the delicious all-you-can eat breakfast is $6 for adults, $3 for children 6-12, with children 5 and under free. There will also be a silent auction.
Mamacita’s Parent Group
Sunday, April 21: Mamacita’s Parenting Strategy Class, facilitated Elva Bustios Huss, will be offered at 5:30 p.m. at Spirit River Community Center, 1320 Co. Rd., 5 NE, Isanti (Spectacular Events). Are you a single parent, a couple, grandparents, foster parents, male, or female? Are you a new parent or are you just having a new child in your home or maybe your kids are just driving you crazy? All are welcome. A nursery will be provided. Also, at 5:30 p.m., youth group will be held.
Together in Recovery
Sunday, April 21: The Christian-based recovery group, Together in Recovery, will meet from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. at Spirit River Community Center, 1320 Co. Rd., 5 NE, Isanti (Spectacular Events). Use the entrance on the north side of the building to maintain confidentiality (look for the sign). All are welcome.
Sons of Norway Meeting in Cambridge
Tuesday, April 23: Rumelva Lodge, Sons of Norway in Cambridge will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at the Senior Activity Center (SACS), 332 3rd Ave. NW, Cambridge. Featured entertainment will be John Tjernagel, an accordionist from Hutchinson whose ancestors are from Stavanger, Norway. Men and women are invited to come and visit and learn about Nordic culture. Refreshments served. Sons of Norway is an organization that promotes and preserves the heritage and culture of Norway, and celebrates our relationship with other Nordic countries.
