New Beginnings hosts music, pizza night

A fun night of Christian music is coming to Cambridge. New Beginnings Community Church is hosting the event, scheduled for Sunday, April 21, at 5 p.m.

The idea originated with Mike Norton, as well as Don and Bob Bursell, two brothers living in Mora and Duluth respectively. Both love music, are accomplished musicians, and wanted to put a band together to just play some great music and enjoy a family-friendly evening. And pizza was the bonus.

Two weeks ago, the group performed in Mora to a full-house at Emma’s pizza. This week’s venue is New Beginnings Church, located two blocks north of Perkins in Cambridge.

Band members include Bob Bursell (Lead Guitar), Don Bursell ( Bass), Casey Kullman (Drums), and Jerry Tarman (Piano and Keys). Jerry is also one of the pastors at New Beginnings Church. Adding color and fun to the musical mix is Mike Norton, who brings his pedal steel, harmonicas, keyboard, and assortment of other rhythm instruments.

Vocalists include Deb Bursell (Don’s wife), Deanna Bursell (their daughter), Janelle Schroeder, Kevin Belkolm, and other band members. The music is an upbeat collection of contemporary Christian songs, with a touch of old favorites.

The night is free, except for the pizza and beverages you may order. Domino’s Pizza will be delivering to the event, and orders can be placed throughout the evening, expected to last until 7 p.m.

It’s not really a concert, but the music will be great. It’s not really a dinner, but the combo of food and friends will be enjoyable. Everyone is welcome; no tickets needed. Just bring your family and friends this Sunday at 5 p.m. to New Beginnings Community Church, 242 3rd Ave. NW, two blocks north of Perkins in Cambridge. For more information call 763-639-8447.
