The Cambridge Center for the Arts presents a gala Spring Concert featuring the East Central Children’s Chorus, the PrimeTime Singers and the Celestial Bells hand bell choir.
The concert is at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 28, at Cambridge Lutheran Church, 621 Old North Main St. in Cambridge. Tickets cost $8 and will sold at the door. Age 17 and under will be admitted free. Li’l Farm, located in rural Cambridge, its a safe, supportive, foster care home for children.
The 20 member, select, auditioned, children’s chorus, under the direction of Shirley Geib, is completing a very successful first year of singing together. They will perform a delightful selection of both sacred and secular choral pieces for children’s choir. The choir includes singers from throughout the East Central Minnesota area.
The PrimeTime Singers, a community choir of senior adults, under the direction of Arne Everson, is in its ninth year. They have performed at a variety of senior centers, nursing homes, special services and other community events. Their repertoire also includes both sacred anthems and secular arrangements of jazz and pops as well as folk songs and spirituals.
The Celestial Bells, the excellent Cambridge Lutheran hand bell choir, directed by Mary Kay O’Neill, will play both a solo number, and in accompaniment with the choirs. The two choirs will join forces on both the opening and closing pieces in the program.
