Four Cambridge Christian students placed at this year’s NLCA Spelling Bee.

This year’s Spelling Bee took place at Crown Christian School in Saint Francis on April 12. Students from several area schools competed for the title of 2013 Spelling Champion.

The Spelling Bee was divided into three divisions. Division A consisted of third and fourth grade students. Division B included fifth and sixth grade students. Division C had seventh and eighth grade students. Each participant qualified for the Bee through a written test taken within the classroom. Students who then qualified, competed in an oral bee with students from other schools. Each school could send up to four participants for each Division.

Trophies were given for the top three places in each Division. Ribbons were also given to those who qualified for the Spelling Bee.

Samuel Tastsides (4th grade) placed first in Division A. Anna Ramberg (4th grade) took home the third place trophy. Pierce Rhine (6th grade) was the third place winner in Division B.  Hannah Breitzmann (8th grade) was also a third place winner in Division C.

Congratulations to all the Cambridge Christian spellers on their terrific performance at the NLCA Spelling Bee.
