Presentation on the Creation of New Food Systems
Thursday, April 11: Jacquelyn Zita, educator and farmer (a semi-retired U of M professor and co-founder of the Women’s Environmental Institute) will speak on “Multiplying the Local: Farming/Gardening for the New Food System” at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge at 7 p.m. She will discuss how we can feed our communities and feed the world through the creation of new food systems—bringing healing nutrition and growing power from the local soil to the local fork. Learn to Draw classes
Saturday, April 13 & 20: This two day workshop is designed to encourage and inveigle the student to develop the habit of drawing. Beginners and experienced drawers alike will use drawing exercises that sharpen the “eye” and loosen the hand motion. Tuesday, April 16: The Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution will be held at the Isanti County Fairgrounds. Registration and food distribution will be from 3:30 to 6 p.m. There will not be any preregistration. Do not arrive before 1 p.m. Food will be distributed to one person only per address. Earth Friendly Fair at Cambridge Campus
Saturday, April 20: Anoka-Ramsey Community College Cambridge Campus will host the 3rd annual Earth Friendly Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme this year is “Something Greater Than Yourself.” There will be vendors and exhibitors, presenters on organic gardening and alternative energy, as well as numerous events and children’s activities, including a scavenger hunt at 9 a.m. and a 100 meter dash. Everyone is invited and admission is free.

Sunday, April 21: The Christ the King Knights of Columbus Council 12813 in Cambridge will hold a Pancake Breakfast at the Catholic Parish Hall from 8 a.m. to noon. All proceeds will be given to St. Scholastica School. Cost of the delicious all-you-can eat breakfast is $6 for adults, $3 for children 6-12, with children 5 and under free. There will also be a silent auction.

Choir Concert to benefit Li’l Farm
Sunday, April 28: The East Central Minnesota Children’s Chorus, together with the PrimeTime Singers, will give a concert at Cambridge Lutheran Church (621 Old N. Main St.) at 3 p.m. The program will include an enjoyable mix of sacred and secular choral music, including two anthems for the two choirs combined. The Celestial Bells hand bell choir will also perform. The concert is a benefit for the Li’l Farm Children’s Home. Tickets at the door for $5. Children admitted free.
