The Cambridge Center for the Arts, serving Cambridge, Isanti County and beyond, endeavors to make the arts available to all people.

CCFA offers a variety of art classes and music lessons, photography club, writers group, local concerts, and bus trips to arts and theater events. The Center is host to Play Inc. Community Theater, the East Central Children’s Chorus, and Nordic Connection events, as well as visual arts exhibits.

The current exhibit, Pencil, Paint, and Politics, is a display of works by nine artists from a drawing cooperative at the Banfill-Locke gallery in Fridley.

Back by popular demand, CCFA presents Kenny Krona in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Center. Tickets are $10, and available online at cambridgecenterforthearts.org.

Two great concerts are coming the last weekend in April. On Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m., is LYRA, and quartet of professional singers from St. Petersburg, Russia, presenting the rich religious and folk heritage of Russian music.

On Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m., the East Central Children’s Chorus joins the PrimeTime Singers and the Celestial Bells in a concert of beautiful choral music, in a variety of styles. This concert is a benefit for the Li’l Farm. Both concerts are at Cambridge Lutheran Church, with tickets at the door, $8; age 17 and under admitted free.

Also Sunday, April 28, CCFA sponsors a coach bus trip to see Mary Poppins at the Orpheum Theater. Bus leaves at 5 p.m. from the Center; show time is 6:30 p.m. Only $40 covers the discounted show ticket and bus fare. See the website for details.
