The Cambridge-Isanti High School Academic Letter Awards Ceremony was held March 18 at the Richard G. Hardy Performing Arts Center.

Of the 430 senior, junior and sophomore letter winners, 220 were present to receive their awards. Senior Dagne Gorham provided a piano prelude.

The CIHS Jazz Choir, under the direction of Aaron Knudsvig, entertained the audience during the ceremony with two selections.

Featured guest, 2007 CIHS graduate and current Cambridge Middle School teacher, Erin Johnson, gave an insightful and humorous speech which encouraged students to take risks, be fearless, surround themselves with positive people and to “call mom,” when faced with difficulties.

The evening ended with a drawing for an iPad (donated by Coca-Cola Company) for a lucky senior letter-winner. Stuart Yurczyk was this year’s winner.
