Bluejacket girls fall to Anoka

Anoka shut down Cambridge-Isanti early with its strong zone defense and went on to defeat the Bluejackets 64-50 in the Section 7AAAA girls basketball semifinals March 6 at North Branch.

The Tornadoes led by as much as 21 points in the second half before Brynn Liljander knocked down two ‘3s’ in a row to cut it to 52-40 with three minutes to play.

Anoka (19-7) will play top-seed Forest Lake in the Friday, March 8 7AAAA championship back at North Branch. The Rangers ran past Andover in the first semifinal game Wednesday night.
