Offer made on Cambridge American Legion building

An offer has been made on the American Legion building in Cambridge.

The American Legion Post and Auxiliary said the potential buyer can’t be disclosed; however, the Legion is in the process of going through information relating to the purchase agreements. The Legion building was put up for sale in late fall 2011.

The Post and Auxiliary continues doing business as normal—the bar remains open—and no matter the outcome of the sale, both organizations will carry on their missions in the community relating to their many programs and activities.

Proceeds from the Post and Auxiliary gambling activities helps many facets of the community including veterans, student scholarships, Boys and Girls State programs, scouts and baseball.

Community organizations such as the Isanti County Food Shelf, The Refuge Network, Harbor Room Cancer Resource Center and others have also benefitted from gambling proceeds.

The Post and Auxiliary are always looking for new members. In order to be a member of the Post or Auxiliary, you need to be a veteran or be related to a veteran. They would like to thank everyone who makes it possible for them to help others in the community.

The Legion and Post hold monthly meetings the second Tuesday of each month. All member’s input and ideas are always welcome at the meeting.
